During the spring 2014 semester, Georgia State University is piloting a grant program for staff training and professional development in areas of strategic institutional importance. The Staff Training and Development Fund (STDF) will provide two categories of support for training and development activities:

  • For offices, departments, or official university groups that wish to organize training/development programs for multiple staff members (e.g., webinars, on-campus workshops, certification programs, or training seminars); and
  • For individual university staff members who wish to participate in off-campus workshops, seminars, conferences, and other training opportunities that relate to their current job responsibilities.

Priority will be given to training/development programs that strongly support the goals of the university Strategic Plan and that have the broadest possible impact.

The STDF program was administered by the university Human Resources Department in collaboration with the Staff Council.  Questions about the pilot STDF program or the application process can be sent to stdf@gsu.edu.
