This session will help you to optimize your skills in a more effective way, so you are able to perform your job duties with greater efficiency. You will be provided with a refreshing way on how to navigate through the Taleo system. Once you have hired and on-boarded the employee, how do you manage the employee? This session also includes managerial training on how to decrease and effectively deal with employee relation issues. ~Managers Only~
Managers have the dual tasks of evaluating performance of supervisors as well as reviewing evaluations prepared by supervisors. In both situations, managers must ensure that performance evaluations are fair, job-related, and absent discriminatory content and impact. Even more challenging, managers must ensure that performance evaluations meet legal guidelines, as well as maintaining employee morale and productivity. This session will review such topics as avoiding discrimination in performance evaluations and in the evaluation process, evaluating a diverse workforce,setting SMART goals, and objectives, improving performance evaluations and the role of managers in the review process.~Managers Only~

This session will cover the main policies related to the employee’s work environment, who to contact for help, and how to access certain resources.
This session details strategies to promote positive employee relations and Georgia State's progressive disciplinary process. It identifies ways to motivate employees. It provides modeling and practice in how to hold discussions with staff members about unacceptable performance when coaching and feedback have failed to correct performance. The group will also discuss procedures for documentation and handling emotions under pressure.~Managers Only~

Don’t let fear of conflict and confrontation keep you from fulfilling your role as a manager. Managers say what scares them the most about counseling employees is fear the tables will be turned on them during the disciplinary session, with the manager ending up in the hot seat, instead of the employee. In this session, you will identify and remove the fear that keeps you from stepping up to the plate when employees need feedback regarding their substandard performance; and learn how to be the manager that everyone wants to work for! ~Managers Only~
This session details strategies for promoting positive employee relations by discussing techniques and methods for managing difficult conversations in the workplace. This session will show how to recognize patterns of communication that can produce difficult conversations and identify ways to prepare for a difficult conversation. The group will also discuss different ways to deal with defensive reactions during difficult conversations.~Managers Only~
This session details managerial strategies on how to effectively equip, retain, and engage your team. It provides interactive modeling and instruction on the importance of equipping your staff with the tools to be successful through clear expectations, providing resources, modeling expected results, and offering feedback. The group will also discuss the manger’s role to develop a plan to retain good employees and how true employee engagement encourages employee contribution, which maximizes team support.~Managers Only~
